Virtual Private Network (VPN)
Overview
Using the Virtual Private Network, off-campus users can connect to the campus network and access most campus resources. For general information on how to use the CITES VPN, please visit http://www.cites.illinois.edu/vpn/. Click here for connecting instructions.
Available To
Students, faculty, staff, guest account users, IT professionals, and network administrators.
Features
When you have a VPN connection established, it's like you have a personal network cable running from your computer to an on-campus location, regardless of where you are or whether you're using physical cables at all.
A VPN connection also helps prevent data theft (such as passwords or credit card numbers) when you're connecting from wireless or remote locations.
Rates
There is no charge for this service.
