High Performance Computing
Overview
Engineering IT encourages users with high-performance computing needs to invest in the Campus Cluster Project. This project builds and maintains shared computational clusters to serve the University’s research needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner. More information about this project can be found at the Campus Cluster Project site.
Available To
Any university faculty, staff, unit or department may invest in the Campus Cluster Project.
Rates
Hardware costs for compute nodes and storage vary by configuration. Up-to-date information can be found on the Campus Cluster Project site.
Features
The Campus Cluster Project leverages shared cluster infrastructure, including data center facilities, high-speed networking, storage, resource management, and support staff to greatly reduce the cost of high-performance computing resources. Since a significant amount of the time needed to deploy a computational cluster is building the support infrastructure, the Campus Cluster Project also reduces the time required to bring computing resources to bear on research problems.
