Hourly Service

Overview

Engineering IT’s Hourly Service is intended to provide urgent desktop support or research consulting services to users who are not covered by another of our support services.  This is most commonly used for (but not limited to) security incidents, hardware failures, new purchase consulting and setup.

Available To

Faculty, staff, and researchers who are not currently covered by a Desktop Support contract or a Research Group Support contract may choose to pay hourly for services normally available under those services.

Features

Individuals who request Hourly Service can receive:

  • Full technical support and troubleshooting on Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems
  • Support on University-owned desktops, laptops and mobile devices
  • Consultation on hardware and software purchases
  • Purchasing, deployment and maintenance of hardware
  • Installation and troubleshooting of software applications used for university business

Rates

The current rate for Hourly Support is $60 per hour.  A University account number (CFOP) must be provided at the time of the request before service will be offered.  Engineering IT will also require a waiver be signed before performing any service on a personal (not University-owned) system.
