Web Hosting - Wiki

The wiki service is at https://wiki.cites.illinois.edu. Wikis are powerful, web-based editing and collaboration tools, capable of supporting individual researchers and small groups, large courses, or entire departments and units. The CITES Wiki service supports teaching, research, and departmental web-based collaboration and outreach, using a 3rd-party software called Confluence.  Confluence organizes content into spaces.

Available To

Any research group, instructor, or student group within Engineering at Illinois. Wiki spaces are ideal for instructors who need a free and simple hosting page for their course.

Create and edit web accessible pages using a basic editor.  No knowledge of web programing is required making it easy to create content, but there is limited ability to theme/style pages for a unique look.   The wiki promotes collaboration and has built in page templates for things like meetings, project decision trees, how-to articles, blog posts etc.   Guest accounts are available for non-University affiliated collaborators.  The space owner is able to set permissions to his/her space.   Wiki spaces can be viewable by anyone, just people on campus or restricted to just group members.

There is no charge for this service.
