The College of Engineering and the Engineering Workstations Labs (EWS) are committed to providing a secure computing environment. To achieve this goal, EWS has disabled any protocols that transmit clear text passwords. EWS users should use SSH and/or SFTP clients to connect to linux.ews.illinois.edu. To download and use secure clients, see "configuring and using Cygwin" on this page.

Download and install the Citrix Reciever app from the iTunes App Store on your iPhone, iPod or iPad.

To use the Citrix Applications, connect to the campus network by connecting to the campus wifi or by setting up a VPN.

Once the app is installed and you're connected to the campus network, Launch the app.

Select Add account.

In your Applications menu on the top-left, select EWS Software -> EWS Citrix Reciever

Make sure that you are in XenApp view by going to View -> Citrix XenApp

  1. Download the Citrix Receiver application from http://www.citrix.com/go/receiver and install it to your machine. If you have an older version installed, please upgrade to the newest version.

Check your printing account. This includes information such as printing history, page purchase history, and user information.

Pages can be bought in blocks of 50 pages for $4.00. Multiple blocks can be bought at once, but try not to over-purchase printing, there are no refunds for unused pages.
