Overview

The Desktop Replacement Program is an initiative by Engineering IT Shared Services to provide all College of Engineering units with standardized, up-to-date computer. Through an annual bulk purchase of computers and displays for the entire College, Engineering IT is able to provide units with higher quality desktops at a lower cost than is available through smaller purchases.

Engineering IT can assist Engineering users with managing the lifecycle of computer hardware and software.  We can offer consultation on hardware and software purchases, and assistance with software licensing for Engineering applications.  Our desktop replacement program provides a modern and consistent desktop experience for all administrative staff in the College.  Engineering IT is also responsible for secure and efficient decommissioning of computing equipment that is no longer used.

Engineering IT User Services staff are available to leverage their knowledge of computing hardware and requirements within the College of Engineering to recommend suitable technologies and resources to all users.

Available To

This service is available to all College of Engineering units/departments, faculty and staff, research groups and graduate students under a Full Support or Basic Support service contract.

Engineering IT offers an IT equipment disposal service to departments and individuals within the College of Engineering. Engineering IT employees will process the equipment according to University Property Accounting guidelines.

University-owned IT equipment, including desktop and laptop computers, servers, monitors, printers, and other electronic peripherals.
