old-Using Kumo in EWS Labs

Kumo is a software interface designed to map your cloud storage (Box, Google Drive*, Dropbox*) to your windows computer as a physical hard drive. This removes the need to use a sync program to access files.

*Please keep in mind that Google Drive and Dropbox are not approved for the storage of institutional data.


To set up the service simply go to kumo.cites.illinois.edu and sign in with your campus credentials. You can then register your accounts on any or all of the three services. The next time you sign in to an EWS computer you should see those storage options appear in "my computer".


Kumo will use pop up notifications when drives are connected/disconnected and when file transfers are occurring. You will notice these notifications in the bottom right hand corner of your screen.
