EWS maintains a large number of installed software packages requested by Engineering faculty that teach in our labs. Please click on the appropriate link below to see a list of software applications that are installed in each type of lab.

Printing Policy

EWS printing is managed through the Technology Services PaperCut service. From this page, EWS printing customers can view their balance, purchase printing credit, view their printing history, request refunds, or submit Web Print jobs.

All EWS policies apply to remote desktop users. Additionally:

  • Idle sessions will be automatically disconnected
  • All users may be logged off automatically at 5:00am for maintenance.
  • Connecting to multiple Windows sessions and multiple Linux graphic sessions is not recommended.

There are many different ways to connect remotely with EWS machines. Read the descriptions below to find out which option is best for you.

DCL L416, L426, L440, and L520

EWS Lab Support Hours**
9 a.m. – 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday
9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday
10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday
10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday

**EWS Labs are closed on campus holidays and during academic breaks.

Account Policy

Students in a degree program in Engineering at Illinois or a program that has a partnership with Engineering at Illinois will be given an EWS account. The programs are:
