Manage Student Expectations

  • At the beginning of the class, clearly explain to the students the process for accessing the recordings and clarify your expectations about how they are to engage with the lectures.
  • A short introductory video recorded for students to view before first day of class is an effective method for introducing course administrative reference material—so students can review it later if they need to.

Content Creation

  • Diagrams and graphics should include explanatory text.

EWS has special commands to reset or fix problems in the EWS environment. These should be run from a terminal window / shell prompt in Linux.

ews-reset-gnome

This command will reset your Linux gnome configuration files back to the default. Gnome is the graphical user interface, or GUI, for our distribution of Linux. Use this command if you are experiencing a log in that lasts less than 10 seconds before being logged out again.
