Faculty, staff, and graduate students receive assistance with configuring personal mobile devices for access to, and the use of, Engineering IT and campus IT services such as storage, email, and network connectivity.

Engineering IT operates on a cost recovery funding model.  Units pay for services on behalf of their faculty, students, and staff with the College subsidizing some common and widely used services. Individual faculty and research groups may contract with Engineering IT for services not covered by their home unit.

The process for obtaining a wired network connection varies between departments, units, and buildings.  To get started, please send email to engrit-help [at] illinois [dot] edu and indicate the department, building, and room number where you need the connection.

The College of Engineering and the Engineering Workstations Labs (EWS) are committed to providing a secure computing environment. To achieve this goal, EWS has disabled any protocols that transmit clear text passwords. EWS users should use SSH and/or SFTP clients to connect to linux.ews.illinois.edu. There are two options for remote printing, web printing, and network printing.

Remote Web Printing

To print from any laptop or computer, simply go to http://print.ews.illinois.edu. You will then see this logon screen. Use your netID and AD password to log on.
