How do I get a Lync phone?

For Faculty and Staff:

Your department's Telecom Unit Coordinator (TUC) will know what department phones are available and advise on any neccessary hardware purchases.

Have some information ready for the TUC:

  • Intended usage for the phone (personal use, common area, etc.)
  • What kind of computer or phone you are using, i.e. Mac, Linux, Windows
  • The location and number of the network jack, i.e. HAP7-12

Technology Services also provides excellent documentation on additional considerations to make before purchasing a Lync phone device.

For Professional Students:

Consult with your advisor on the availability of a Lync phone device. If unsure, please have them consult the Telecom Unit Coordinator from their home department (see above for details).
